Banks & Data Import

We support CSV exports from major European banks including:

  • Revolut
  • N26
  • Wise (TransferWise)
  • Bank of Ireland
  • AIB
  • Deutsche Bank
  • And many more...

If your bank allows CSV exports, it likely works with ExpenseAutomator.

Most banks allow you to export transaction history as a CSV file:

  • Revolut: Go to your account → Statements → Select date range → Export as CSV
  • N26: Open the app → Go to Statements → Download as CSV
  • Wise: Go to your balance → Statement → Download CSV

Check your bank's help section for specific instructions.

If your bank exports CSV files in a format we don't recognize, contact us at support@expenseautomator.com. We're constantly adding support for new banks and can often add yours within a few days.

Security & Privacy

Yes, we take security very seriously:

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256)
  • No bank credentials: We never ask for or store your bank login details
  • Read-only data: We only import transaction history—we can't move money
  • GDPR compliant: We follow EU data protection regulations

No, never. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is used solely to provide you with our expense tracking services. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Yes. You can delete your account at any time from your Settings page. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. You can also export your data before deletion.

Features

Our AI analyzes the description of each transaction to automatically assign it to a category (e.g., Groceries, Transport, Entertainment). The system learns from corrections you make, improving accuracy over time. You can also create custom rules for specific merchants.

Budget rules let you automatically categorize transactions based on patterns. For example, you can create a rule that says "If description contains 'LIDL' → categorize as Groceries". Rules are applied to new imports automatically, saving you time.

Yes! Create budgets for any category and time period. You'll get notifications when you're approaching your limit and see your progress on the dashboard. This helps you stay on track with your financial goals.
